Lakhimpur Kheri: In Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district, two teenage Dalit sisters — aged 17 and 15 — were allegedly abducted from their home by three men and raped by at least two of the youths, found hanging from a tree about two kilometres from their house in Tambolin Purwa village, outside a village in Nighasan area of UP's Lakhimpur Kheri district Wednesday 

"Accused have been identified as Chotu, Junaid, Sohail, Hafizul, Karimuddin and Arif. Junaid has been nabbed in an encounter that ensued where he was shot in his leg," the Lakhimpur SP said.

In the post-mortem reports of the two girls, which ThePrint has accessed, the cause of death has been mentioned as “asphyxia as a result of antemortem strangulation”.

 the police said, the girls had recently been introduced to the three accused by a fellow villager named Chhotu, who is known to the family.

The girls’ inconsolable mother said the incident took place around 3 pm Wednesday when she was inside the house. “Chhotu had called three young men from the neighbouring Lalpur village, all of whom I can identify by face. The three pulled my daughters onto the motorbike they were riding and sped away. I tried to chase them for a few meters but fell down,” she said.

She further alleged that before she fell down and lost consciousness, she saw two of the accused “gag” her elder daughter and pull her away, while the third carried her younger daughter on his shoulder.

When she regained consciousness, she started searching for her girls who were then discovered hanging from a tree at around 5 pm.

An FIR has been lodged against Suhail, Junaid, Hafizur Rehman and Chhotu on a complaint from the girl’s mother under IPC sections 302 (punishment for murder), 376 (punishment for rape), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrong­ful restraint), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

“The trio was identified are known to Chhotu, who introduced them to the girls. Suhail and Hafizul Rehman  Junaid were arrested Thursday morning after a shootout, during which he was shot in the leg.

The confessions of the accused before the police are not admissible in court.

“Yesterday, the trio had reached the village and coaxed the girls into coming with them. They were first taken to the field where they established sexual relations with them without their consent. The girls then asked the accused to marry them and were adamant in their demands. Angered by this, the youths admitted to having strangulated the women with their dupattas. Then, two others — Kareemuddin and Arif — were called to the spot by the accused. The five youths then together hanged the women from the tree in a bid to destroy evidence,” said SP Suman.

Local villagers and the girls' family on Wednesday lodged a protest as they marched and blocked the road demanding justice for the victims.

The family of the deceased has accused three men of rape and murder and staged a demonstration at the Nighasan crossing, a few kilometres from the village.

Lakhimpur Kheri superintendent of police along with the police force rushed to the protest site and assured villagers that strict action will be taken against the accused.

Uttar Pradesh: 6 people arrested from hookah bar posing as family restaurant in Budaun, allegedly used to blackmail Hindu women in attempted love jihad Allegedly the bar operator used to ask Hindu women to register their identity and mobile numbers in a book and then used to share the details with his Islamist friends Police arrested six persons named Faiz, Lalu, Ayaaz, Varun, Arbaz, and Abdul Kadir alias Jilani for operating a hookah bar in the name of a family restaurant in Budaun district. The Police have also recovered stolen bikes, cash, and firearms from the arrested persons. This is after several videos of youngsters smoking hookah went viral over social media.

It is believed that the person wearing a white shirt in the viral video is none other than Arbaz who operates a hookah bar. He has displayed a board saying family restaurant outside the bar. The Poice had sealed the bar on September 12 and had arrested Arbaz for running the bar illegally. However, on September 15, the Police arrested the other five accused in the case.

ANI reporter Vipul Kashyap shared the video and said that Arbaz used to ask Hindu women to register their identity and mobile numbers in a book and then used to share the details with his Islamist friends. The Islamist men then used to record videos of the Hindu girls and used to blackmail them.

Another journalist named Tushar Srivastava from Zee Hindustan also shared a similar video and reiterated the claim that Hindu girls were being targeted by the Islamists inside the bar. The women in the viral video can be seen enjoying vulgar Bollywood dance with the men around. According to journalist Rahul Sisodia, the bar promotes the practice of Love jihad and boosts Islamist men to target Hindu women.

The bar aka ‘family restaurant’ was inaugurated by MLA Mahesh Chandra Gupta. After the bar was sealed by the Police on September 12, Gupta said that the inauguration ceremony was conducted just for the formality and that it was a family restaurant at the time of the inauguration. He said that he had no idea about the hookah bar and was unaware of inappropriate activities ongoing inside the bar.

 A recent survey reveals, that over 79 per cent of asylum-seekers and refugees in Sweden, the majority of whom are Muslims have vacationed in their home country since fleeing to Europe by making false claims that their lives are at risk in their home countries.

A survey conducted by polling firm Novus on behalf of the Swedish online newspaper Bulletin revealed that 79 per cent of refugees who claim to be fleeing war or persecution have voluntarily returned to their home country since making the trip to Sweden.

The Swedish Migration Agency has pointed out: Refugee status can be revoked if it turns out that the person no longer needs international protection from their home country or if they have provided incorrect information about such a need”.

In Switzerland, an asylum seeker who returns home without special permission from the government risks losing their residence permit in the country.

Similarly, in Germany, a statement by then-Interior Minister Horst Seehofer in 2019 warned refugees they would face an investigation and could be stripped of their right to residency should they travel back to their homeland.

“If someone, a Syrian refugee, regularly vacations in Syria, he cannot honestly claim to be persecuted in Syria”, he said at the time.

In Norway, Aftenposten reported in 2018 that 24 per cent of immigrants from Somalia, 40 per cent of immigrants from Afghanistan, 55 per cent from Iran and 71 per cent from Iraq regularly travelled to their home country. According to Aftenposten, the data had been produced by Norway’s statistical authority SSB. A difference with Bulletins/Novus is that the Norwegian figures are the proportion of immigrants who regularly vacation in their home country. In contrast, the Swedish figures report those who travelled at least once.

Even in Germany, asylum seekers’ holiday trips to the home country became a political issue, as holiday trips were considered incompatible with the claim that one is fleeing for one’s life and seeking refuge in Germany due to danger in the home country. In a statement in 2019, Germany’s then-interior minister Horst Seehofer warned refugees that they would be investigated and stripped of their residence permits when travelling to their homeland.

“If someone, a Syrian refugee, regularly vacations in Syria, he cannot honestly claim to be persecuted in Syria”, he said, adding “we would have to strip him of his refugee status”.

According to DW, for example, investigations in 2016 led to 66 refugees from Iraq and Syria being stripped of their residence permits and were no longer considered to be in need of protection when they had gone on trips to their homeland.

Iran Executes 3 Women In Single Day for murdering their husbands

Tehran: Washington-based Abdorrahman Boroumand Centre for Human Rights in Iran and London-based Amnesty International said Wednesday that Iran is carrying out executions at a "horrifying pace" in an "abhorrent assault" on the right to life. 

Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR) said that on July 27 three women were executed in different prisons for murdering their husbands in separate cases.

Women killed husbands who were abusive or they married child brides.

Soheila Abedi, Faranak Beheshti, and Senobar Jalali were victims of forced marriages.

Meanwhile, Soheila Abedi, who had married her husband when aged just 15, was hanged in a prison in the city of Sanandaj in western Iran. She had committed the murder 10 years after their marriage and was convicted in 2015

Faranak Beheshti, who had been convicted around five years ago for the murder of her husband, was executed in the prison in the northwestern city of Urmia

A report by IHR published in October last year said that at least 164 women were executed between 2010 and October 2021.

But activists are alarmed by a surge in executions in Iran this year, coinciding with the rise of former judiciary chief Ebrahim Raisi to the presidency in 2021 and protests over an economic crisis.

At least 306 people have been executed so far in Iran in 2022, according to a count by IHR.

According to Islamic Sharia law, the victim's family decides the punishment for the accused charged with murder. They can choose between retaliation-in-kind (Qisas), blood money (Diya), and forgiveness.

It is reported that Iran executes more women than any other country worldwide. While most of these women are charged with killing their husbands, most of them had violent and abusive husbands and were married to them as children.

The exact numbers of the executions carried out in the country are unknown as there is no official announcement by the Iranian authorities. According to research conducted by human rights groups last year, only 16.5% of the total executions in the country were officially announced.

Human rights organizations are concerned about the increase in women facing the death penalty in 2022. Compared to the past year, the number has increased exponentially as the country sees a flow of executions.

Amnesty International and the Abdurrahman Boroumand Centre for Human Rights accused Iran of a "horrific wave of executions," where more than 250 people suffered the death penalty in the first six months of the year.

Deputy regional director Diana Eltahawy said, "During the first six months of 2022, the Iranian authorities executed at least one person a day on average. The state machinery is carrying out killings on a mass scale across the country in an abhorrent assault on the right to life. Iran's staggering execution toll for the first half of this year had chilling echoes of 2015 when there was another shocking spike,"

The judgment is delivered as soon as possible.

Of the people executed in 2022, the majority of 146 were convicted of murder, and 86 were accused of drug-related crimes.

India snubs Pakistan, REJECTS 'unwarranted references' to J&K by Islamic Nations

• India hit out at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday for its “unwarranted comments” on the delimitation exercise in Jammu and Kashmir and asserted that the union territory is an integral and inalienable part of India.
• In a subtle jab at Pakistan, it also asked the 57-nation bloc to refrain from carrying out its "communal agenda" at the behest of one country.
• “We are dismayed that the OIC Secretariat has once again made unwarranted comments on the internal affairs of India. As in the past, the Government of India categorically rejects the assertions made by the OIC Secretariat on the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral and inalienable part of India,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a statement.
• “OIC should refrain from carrying out its communal agenda vis-à-vis India at the behest of one country,” he added.
• WHAT IS DELIMITATION IN J&K
• Delimitation is the act of redrawing the boundaries of a constituency that votes for a Lok Sabha seat based on the change in its population over a period of time.
• The delimitation panel on Jammu and Kashmir, formed in March 2020, notified its final report redrawing the electoral map of the union territory on May 5.
• The three-member commission earmarked six additional assembly seats for the Jammu region and one for the Kashmir Valley and brought the areas of Rajouri and Poonch under the Anantnag parliamentary seat. Love Jihad - 1: Are Muslims Taking advantage of secularism to target Hindus?

 

 The incident took place when Teacher’s Day was being celebrated at Project Plus Two High School in Sadma, Ormanjhi, on September 5.

RANCHI:  In what could be termed a “blatant attempt” to incite communal tension in the state, and as if the burning, raping and hanging of minor girls was not enough, now a group of Muslim men are reported to have barged into a school brandishing firearms and threatened Hindu girls to fall to their friendship proposals.

 

The police came to know of this only on Saturday when the school convened a meeting of two communities to sort out the matter, but the two sides clashed and the police had to intervene to prevent a communal flare-up.

The police later booked five accused for creating ruckus and threatening school staff and students. 

The police are conducting raids to arrest the five accused. Besides, Ranchi SSP Kaushal Kishore has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the matter.

“Named FIR against the five Muslim youths — Firdous Ansari, Suhail Ansari, Muzammil Ansari, Taufik Ansari, and Jameel Ansari — has been lodged, charging them of molestation, threatening and beating girls and school staff. 

It has been alleged in the FIR that they barged into Project Plus Two High School in Sadma at Ormanjhi, waved weapons and threatened to abduct girls,” said the officer in charge of Ormanjhi Police Station Rajeev Kumar Singh.

The Muslim Youths involved a brief scuffle with the clerk and went out, but again came after some time with some more people brandishing weapons and threatening everyone there saying that they take the girls away with them,” said Principal Sebestini Kerketta.

Close on the heels of a string of attacks on Hindus by Muslims in Jharkhand, it was a shocking incident of armed Muslim youths barging into a school on the outskirts of state capital Ranchi and threatening to abduct Hindu girls studying there that has come to light. 

“Be our friends or you will be kidnapped,” is how they allegedly terrorised the girls in broad daylight, in the presence of the teaching staff.

Following the incident, the girls told their parents about incident. After a meeting on the matter on Saturday held on the school premise, parents approached the Ormanjhi Police Station and filed a written complaint against three named and several unnamed accused.

They had allegedly vandalised a generator set also. They had also thrashed a few teachers and students following the incident.

According to school girls, threats have been made to the tribal and other Hindu girls studying in the school for the past few weeks.

“One of our classmates has stopped coming to school for a month due to the threats given by the accused persons and lewd remarks passed by them,” said a student.

The incident has come to light days after a Class 12 student Ankita was allegedly set on fire on August 23 by Muslim youth in Dumka.

A 16-year-old girl was shot in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar on 25 August. Delhi Police have arrested the main accused who allegedly hatched a conspiracy to kill her because she stopped talking to him.

Amanat Ali, 19, was arrested, while police had earlier arrested two other accused Bobby (24) and Pawan alias Sumit (19).

According to police, Ali came in contact with the girl on social media a couple of years ago. However, she stopped talking to him around six months ago, after which he held a grudge against her.

“He befriended my daughter on social media 3-4 months back, it was a fake id. We came to know about it in July when he made a man break our window panes,” said the victim’s father.

“He used to follow my daughter to and from school on his bike. When they broke our window in July, we called our Beat Constable. He had told us not to worry and that they would make him understand so that he doesn’t repeat it. Had the administration been strict on time, he wouldn’t have done this.

The doctor has said that bullets are still inside her but she is stable.
